Introduction

Wake Boutique Hotel, nestled in the heart of Tulum, wanted a website that reflected the elegance, tranquility, and luxury of their boutique property. Their goal was to attract guests while highlighting their unique experiences, modern rooms, and community-driven ethos. This case study explores how we brought their vision to life.

Research and Planning

During our initial discussions, we defined four key goals:

  1. Visual Storytelling: Showcase the hotel’s lush and serene atmosphere with striking visuals and a cohesive design.
  2. Highlight Experiences: Feature offerings like yoga, sound healing, and sunset tea sessions to appeal to travelers seeking unique experiences.
  3. Seamless Booking: Ensure guests can easily explore room options and book their stay.
  4. Community Connection: Highlight the hotel’s warmth and hospitality, showcasing their role in fostering meaningful connections.

Design and Development Process

1. Wireframing and Prototyping

The wireframe focused on distinct sections for experiences, room categories, and community connections. The hero section featured high-resolution images and elegant typography to immediately captivate visitors.

2. Visual Aesthetic

  • Color Palette: Neutral tones with earthy accents created a serene and natural feel.
  • Typography: Modern, clean fonts were paired with sophisticated serif styles to emphasize luxury.
  • Imagery: Full-width photos showcased the interiors, dining options, and activities, immersing users in the hotel’s atmosphere.

3. Interactive Features

  • A dynamic section for room categories like “Modern,” “Comfort,” and “Luxury,” with smooth hover effects revealing more details.
  • A seamlessly integrated booking form allowing users to select dates and room preferences.
  • Subtle animations and transitions added a dynamic yet calming experience.

4. Mobile Optimization

The site was meticulously optimized for mobile, ensuring fluid navigation and perfect image scaling on smaller screens.

Challenges and Solutions

  • Showcasing Multiple Experiences: Balancing a minimalist design with detailed information about activities like yoga, sound healing, and tea sessions. We used visual blocks for each experience, maintaining clarity without overwhelming users.
  • Encouraging Bookings: Strategically placed call-to-action buttons like "Stay With Us" and a prominent booking form simplified the user journey and boosted conversions.
